Ham Lake to kick off new year with dog competition

The On the Run Canine Center will be holding a competitive event in January at its building in Ham Lake.

Slingin' Outta 2020 is a dog competition co-hosted by Xtreme K9 Dog Sports and Long Shot Dog Sports LLC. The event will consist of several games for canines, including Time Warp, Throw n’ Go, Greedy, and Frizgility. The competition will be split into novice, intermediate, and advanced divisions. Dog handlers must abide by the venue’s safety policies and wear a face covering at all times in the facility.

Xtreme K9 Dog Sports is an organization offering dog classes and private lessons taught by Michael Teh, and Long Shot Dog Sports LLC is a group in Rochester that organizes fun disc-throwing dog competitions. Detailed rule descriptions for games created by the canine sports organizer can be found on the UpDog Challenge website. Companies such as this can market their upcoming competitions to the public by using flyer printing.

The competitive event will be held on Saturday, January 2 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Check-in will begin at 7:45 am via the agility gate app. Dogs in the novice division will compete during the first half of the day, while upper-level canines will compete in the latter half. Registration for the competition will close after next Wednesday, December 23, or when all spots are filled.
