Ham Lake library to host creative experience

North Central Library in Ham Lake will be teaching adults how to create an origami masterpiece in the new year.

Creative Hands is a series of crafting activities held throughout the year at North Central Library that invites locals to experience a variety of art projects. For January, the class will be given guided instructions on how to create a cardinal out of paper.

Liza Shafto will be the instructor for the activity. The library will provide all materials for the crafting project. Organizations that hold artistic events like this can order custom paper from Stationery printers.

North Central Library is a branch of the Anoka County Library, whose mission is to connect the community to ideas, information, and inspiration. The library focuses on strengthening its county by providing educational services and resources for the public. Those who wish to assist the Anoka County Library can become volunteers, helping out with such activities as preparing crafting activities and keeping parts of the library’s collection clean.

Creative Hands will be held on Friday, January 24 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. There is no fee for joining the crafting event, though registration is required. The class does have limited seating, so people who want to attend should register early. Anybody who would like to provide support for library programs like Creative Hands can donate online.
