Ham Lake bowling alley to strike out hunger

The Ham Lake Lanes & Lounge will host a fundraising event to help the community fight against hunger.

Strike Out Hunger is a fundraising event held by the North Anoka County Emergency Food Shelf & Closet (NACE) where people can enjoy an evening of bowling. Those at the activity can purchase raffle tickets and bid on items during the bowling alley's silent auction. Those interested in helping the event can buy goods to donate to the silent auction, such as gift mug sets, rechargeable camping lanterns, and toys for children.

NACE is an organization that helps in North Anoka County by offering free food and clothing to those in need. The company is partnered with The Food Group and Second Harvest Heartland. People who utilize the organization's resources are asked only to visit once per month and will be required to bring a form of I.D. to the venue. The company's current director is Susan Diersen, a recipient of the Hero award at the Metro North Working with Women Gala.

The bowling fundraiser will be held on Friday, April 21st from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Tickets for the activity will cost $20 per person, which includes the cost of the shoe rental. A complete list of NACE's wanted items for the silent auction can be found on the organization's Amazon Wish List page. Charitable groups similar to this may use Print shops to promote their local fundraisers.
