Thanks to an upcoming Plymouth fundraiser, a variety of youth mental health initiatives will have the funds needed to deliver programming to the people they serve.
Farmington SAFE and The Michigan District of Optimist International have partnered to present a funding and awareness raiser to the area. Those who would like to get involved will be able to participate in the run, walk, family walk or pooch patrol, and there are categories to suit every age and fitness level.
The planner of the function noted that along with raising funds, one of the main goals of the function is to increase community awareness of mental health issues faced by area youth. The participating fees start at $15.00 each, and all of the proceeds, except for a portion of the processing fees, will be donated to the cause. Those who require a mobility device are encouraged to join in the fun, and monetary contributions will be accepted as well.
To thank the members of the public who register for their generous spirit, the organizers will present them with finisher’s medals, race bibs, tee shirts with a custom graphic design, as well as doggie bandanas, depending on which option they chose. These sorts of Corporate Gifts may be ordered from local professional printers.
The RU OK 5k Run/Walk, 1 Mile Fun Family Walk and Pooch Patrol fundraiser will help to provide a light in the darkness on September 11th. The starting line will be set up in Kellogg Park.
