Plymouth day camp to teach fundamentals of pottery making

Plymouth parents who are on the lookout for some summer fun for their kids may want to check out an offering that will introduce young people to the art of crafting with clay.

The camp, which will run every afternoon for one week, will be suited to kids from ages 7 to 14 who have a beginner to intermediate level of experience in working with clay. The group will be divided by age, and the focus of the activity will be to have fun while crafting pieces that are as useful as they are attractive.

The participants will discover a variety of techniques using hands-on teaching methods, and they will all have a chance to use the pottery wheel. The basics of sculpting and glazing will be covered, and the registrants can expect to end the experience with a variety of finished pieces, and those will be fired and ready for pick up two or three weeks after the camp has drawn to a close.

This activity is being offered to local families thanks to the Plymouth Community Arts Council. A flyer printing company can be called upon to aid in marketing this type of activity throughout the local community.

The Pottery-Forms With Function summer camp week will run from July 26 to July 30. The location for the activity will be 774 North Sheldon Road.
