Plymouth class to introduce art of working with resin

Plymouth Artist Collective is a group of local artisans, and they will be sharing their skills with those who participate in one of list upcoming classes.

The Collective has organized a class that will introduce techniques used when working with resin, and it will be a hands-on learning opportunity. It is suitable for everyone from the beginner and up, and one of the project options will craft a representation of both upper and lower Michigan.

Shells, crystals and rocks may be added to the pieces to provide some extra flair – these will be available for purchase at an additional price. The hardwood used will be laser cut. Participants are advised to leave the items overnight before they are packed up and taken home. The group will be working with both mica powder and alcohol-based inks.

When making arrangements to host a workshop, safety will be one of the issues addressed by the organizers. Signage, as well as liability waivers and instruction sheets, may be prepared by area Stationery printers.

The Plymouth Artist Collective has invited anyone interested in learning how to work with resin to be part of this activity. It will be on offer on December 29, and will take place at the Plymouth Arts & Recreation Complex. Ticket prices vary depending on the activity selected.
