A camp for girls who play hockey is set for Farmington Hills.
Megan Keller's Gold Medal Hockey Camp is coming up and is specifically designed for from ages 7 to 17. The camp engages the girls in activities both on and off the ice. On the ice, participants will learn agility and balance, edge and skating control, passing and handling the puck, scoring and shooting, scrimmages, and small area games.
Off the ice, girls will participate in a workshop about dreams and goals, and work on their mobility, body movement, and strength. A video analysis of their playing will be part of the camp, as will games, fun, and pictures. In addition, a camp jersey will be given to every participant. Those girls who play goalie will receive instruction from Jessica Convery, who is the goalie coach at Trine University, and an alumna of UMD. Keller played hockey in college and went on to a professional career in the sport.
The players will be divided into three groups by age and assigned times for their participation. The Red Group is for girls ages 7 through 10, the White Group is for ages 11 and 12, and the Blue Group is for ages 13 through 17. On Thursday, all groups will work together. Brochure printing can be used to create instructional materials for events like this.
The camp runs from July 19 to July 22 at Suburban Ice Farmington Hills.
