New mayor of Farmington Hills plans meetings with residents

Ken Massey, a former member of the city council who was recently elected as mayor of Farmington Hills after serving three terms as mayor pro tem, is planning to find out what is on residents' minds by the simple expedient of asking them.

Mayor Massey is planning on holding a series of meetings across Farmington Hills during which he will ask residents to share their concerns and questions, and provide them with updates about plans for the city.

In order to make it as easy as possible for residents to get to the meetings, they will be held in different areas of the city, at various fire stations.

The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 16, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at Fire Station No. 2, 28225 Middlebelt Road. The second meeting will be at the same time the following day, at Fire Station No. 4, at 28711 Drake Road.

The other two meetings are later in the month. The third is March 23, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fire Station No. 1 at 35725 Nine Mile Road. The fourth and final outreach meeting is at the same time the following night, at Fire Station No. 3, 29260 Grand River. There will be light refreshments provided at each meeting.

City officials could work with a postcard printing company to create a mailer for residents as a reminder about the meetings.
