The planning commission in Farmington Hills has considered plans for three new hotels, and sent them to the city council, despite some uncertainty about the development.
According to a February 13 news article, the hotels would form a sort of campus on the site where the long vacant Alexander Hamilton Insurance Company building sits. The building, which comprises 127,000 square feet, will be demolished as soon as the project is approved.
The three hotels would be a Courtyard by Marriott, featuring 106 rooms in a four-story structure; a limited-stay hotel with 100 rooms, and a full-service hotel comprising 140 rooms, along with banquet rooms. This third hotel would be four to six stories tall.
The Courtyard by Marriott would be the second such hotel in the area; the first was sold and is currently the Farmington Hills Hotel. All three of the planned hotels are likely to feature fitness rooms, swimming pools, and meeting spaces.
Questions have arisen as to whether or not three hotels will actually be built, considering the state of the economy currently. In response, a representative for the Alexander Hamilton property said they are certain the first one will be built, and it is quite likely the second will also be constructed. Market conditions will determine whether the third hotel will be built.
When they are completed, hotel managers might consider working with brochure printers to create Booklets to place in racks in transportation centers, advertising the hotels.Get a Free Quote for Booklets
