Farmington Hills ready for holiday events

Residents of Farmington Hills have lots to choose from this season.

People who love the movie “Elf” will enjoy “Elf Jr. the Musical,” a play based on the film. Presented by the Farmington Hills Youth Theater, the show continues Buddy the Elf's struggles to find out where he belongs.

Shoppers hoping to find that special gift should plan to stop by the Michigan Makers Holiday Market, which will feature more than 50 crafters and vendors. This event was previously called the Farmington Hills Holiday Shopping Expo.

The city will also present the Annual Holiday “Lights” Ceremony, which includes the lighting of the trees in front of City Hall. In addition, a 20-foot-tall candle will also be lit. The candle symbolizes the community's commitment to unity and peace. Santa will lend a hand to the festivities, and after the lighting ceremony, Fire Station Headquarters will be the place to enjoy refreshments.

“Elf Jr. the Musical” will run from November 21 through 24 at Costick Center on 11 Mile Road. Thursday and Friday, the show is at 7:00pm; on Saturday, at 1:00pm and 5:00pm; and on Sunday, at 1:00pm and 5:00pm. Admission is $10.

The Holiday Market is at the Costick Center, from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm on November 30, and is free.

The Holiday Lights Ceremony will take place at 6:30 pm on December 3. Banner printing can provide season decorations for events like these.
