Farmington Hills recently announced that applications are available for musicians who want to be involved in upcoming events.
City officials are already considering the Stars in the Park concerts that take place every summer, and developing the lineup for the 2020 season. Performers interested in being part of the series should submit their application online, and include any links they have to YouTube, Facebook, or websites where officials can see their performance. Those artists chosen to participate must bring their own audio equipment to the venue, which is outdoors.
The concerts in the series are held at the Heritage Park Amphitheater on Farmington Road. The series is nine weeks in length, and the shows are held each Thursday, beginning at 7:00 pm. They usually last approximately 90 minutes. If the weather is inclement, the concert moves indoors to the Costick Center, on Eleven Mile Road in Farmington Hills.
Many people who attend the concerts are particularly pleased with the outdoor setting, and may attend several shows every year. Although pets and alcohol are not allowed in the park, attendees are welcome to bring a lawn chair, blanket, and picnic to enjoy.
Each year, there is a special concert dubbed High School Music Night. During this evening, young aspiring artists have a chance to play for an audience in a 10-minute program.
The application deadline is October 31. Flyer printing can be used to disseminate information widely about events like this.
