Family movie screening near Farmington Hills

The Farmington Community Library will hold a family movie night in late December. The movie presented at this event will be the 2019 children's animated film Abominable.

Abominable was produced by Pearl Studio and DreamWorks Animation. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was then distributed to several countries. Universal Pictures took care of most of the worldwide distribution, but Pearl Studio took the job of distributing the film throughout China. Following largely positive reviews from critics, it grossed over $188bn worldwide.

The film tells the story of a young girl, Yi, who finds an abominable snowman after it escapes from the compound of a wealthy man named Mr. Burnish. She names him Everest and learns that he wants to return to his family on Mount Everest. As Yi has the desire to travel across China, she quickly agrees to go on the journey with Everest. The two of them, along with Yi's friends Peng and Jin, travel to Mount Everest while trying to escape Mr. Burnish and his crew.

The event will take place from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at 23500 Liberty Street, which is an eight-minute drive from Farmington Hills. Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets and snacks. Libraries such as the Farmington Community Library can benefit from using flyer printing services to promote their events.
