An Ice Show is coming to Farmington Hills for the 20th year.
Learn-to-Skate students and Skating Club members will put on this year's program, which is entitled ‘Monopoly on Ice’. The event is scheduled for the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.
The show is not a professional production, but is more in the nature of a recital. Any member of the Skating Club can sign up to be part of the event, which is a good way for a person to measure the growth of their ability, as well as performing in front of others. The entrance fee includes costumes, and coaching sessions for one of the numbers a group is planning to present.
The arena offers people of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to learn to skate through the ‘Skate with US’ program. U.S. Figure Skating, which is the national governing organization for the sport, devised the program. Also available all year round are ‘Learn-To-Skate’ classes.
There will be two performances of the Ice Show, with the first next Friday, May 6 at 7:00 pm. The second is scheduled for the next day, May 7, at 4:00 pm. The Ice Arena is located on Eight Mile Road, between Farmington and Halsted Roads. Tickets are on sale now.
Show organizers might work with a poster printing company to create a colorful placard to advertise the show.
