Phoenix International Incorporated will organize a comedy fundraiser at the Shark Bar And Seafood House in Waldorf.
The Comedic Relief Comedy Show is an event where people can enjoy a performance by Jay Pharoah while supporting the Phoenix International School of the Arts (PISOTA). Pharaoh is a comedian, impressionist, and actor who was featured on shows like Saturday Night Live, White Famous, and Unsane. He has also starred in Legends of the Chamberlain Heights and BoJack Horseman. The opening acts for the show will include Davvy Ruffin and Mike Brooks.
PISOTA is an organization that wants to bring high-quality education to students in the rural areas of Maryland. The group offers tuition-free programs to middle schoolers and is located in La Plata. Many events have been organized by PISOTA, like Dream Academy: The Pop-Up Experience, the Phoenix Arts Creative Camp, and the Spring Arts Showcase. The group hosts fundraising events at several businesses, including The Green Turtle and the Texas Roadhouse.
The comedy fundraising event will be held on Thursday, October 24th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The cost to watch the show is $55.20 per person. All event-goers must be at least 18 years old to attend Pharoah’s performance.
