Similar to other communities throughout the nation, residents throughout Waldorf have already begun clearing their schedules for a patriotic-themed event slated to take place in late June.
The Waldorf Juneteenth Freedom Day is now in its sixth consecutive year, and it continues to resonate with residents. While this festival represents a means to celebrate American independence, it also provides an opportunity for guests to interact with one another, and for families to enjoy a day out on the town.
This year's Freedom Day will be offering up a kaleidoscope of activities. Some of these include on-site food vendors, live music, a poetry contest, African American art displays, and inflatable games for children. Freedom Day has also come to represent a means to acknowledge the contributions that have been made by African American residents throughout Waldorf.
Events celebrated annually will often use tried-and-tested marketing techniques like purchasing Stationery from local Print shops, distributing mass-produced Flyers, and reserving airtime on public access television stations to keep viewers informed.
The Sixth Annual Waldorf Juneteenth Freedom Day is being held on Saturday, June 20. Festivities will begin at 1:00 PM and conclude at 6:00 PM. All activities are being hosted by The Shops at Waldorf Center located at 2952 Festival Way. There is no charge to attend and the day is suitable for all ages.
