Waldorf show to introduce children to live reptiles

The Waldorf West Branch Library will host an educational experience for kids that teaches them about reptiles.

Reptile World is a presentation where children and tweens can learn about interesting reptiles from around the globe. The show is part of the Charles County Public Library’s Summer Learning Challenge Program. Audience members will get to see large and colorful reptiles at the event and learn how the creatures are different from other animals. Other topics covered in the presentation will include how reptiles impact the food chain and their ability to adapt to their environments.

The presentation is led by Michael Shwedick, the founder of Reptile World Inc. who has been teaching people about reptiles since 1970. His organization owns one of the country’s biggest private reptile collections. Shwedick’s show includes many reptiles, such as tropical lizards, snakes, alligators, and turtles. The experience aims to get rid of misconceptions about these animals and help students increase their appreciation of reptiles.

The reptile presentation will be held on Monday, July 15th from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Those interested in attending the event must arrive at the library at 1:00 pm to receive a ticket for the performance. No prior registration is available for the presentation. Libraries that offer child-friendly lectures like this may use printing services to design Posters for their programs.
