The Southern Maryland Rock and Mineral Club will organize a convention in October at the Old Waldorf School.
The 27th Annual Rock, Mineral & Fossil Show is an event where people can learn about and purchase items like polished stones, uncut rocks, crystals, and fossils. Vendors at the convention will also sell handcrafted jewelry and rocks that glow in the dark. Guests can browse over 45 tables at the show and will have opportunities to win door prizes. All children who come to the event will be given a complimentary rock.
The Southern Maryland Rock and Mineral Club is an organization formed in 1989 for those who are interested in learning about rocks, minerals, and fossils. The group began at the Clearwater Nature Center and became part of the Eastern Federation of Mineral and Lapidary Societies in 1990. Members of the club participate in field collecting trips, give presentations, and attend monthly meetings. Individual dues for the group cost $25.
The rock, mineral, and fossil convention will be held on October 7 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Adults can purchase tickets for $5, and seniors can buy admission for $4. Those who are 13-17 can pay $3 to enter, and children 12 and younger can enter for free with an adult. The event will be held indoors. Vendors who take part in shows similar to this can give away Promotional Products to connect with shoppers.
