Fitness fans throughout Waldorf are already beginning to prepare for a marathon taking place in a few weeks. The St. Charles Running Festival offers certified 5K and 10K courses that are ideal for a variety of runners.
Although the marathon begins and finishes in Waldorf, the main course will take runners through the nearby community of St. Charles. As this tends to be flat terrain, the level of difficulty is less challenging when compared to races associated with varying elevations.
The marathon itself is primarily geared towards avid fitness enthusiasts, but a post-race party is open to the general public. The "Taste of Southern Maryland" offers food trucks that will supply a host of local dishes, with pizza, pasta, alcoholic beverages, and barbecued meats a handful of examples.
Festivals combining races with casual entertainment tend to rely on several means to advertise what the public can expect. Partnering with nearby Stationery printers, banner ads, and updated social media posts are all potential options.
The St. Charles Running Festival is being held on Saturday, September 20. The race begins and ends at the Maryland Blue Crabs Regency Furniture Station. The address is 11765 St. Linus Drive, Waldorf 20602. The race will begin at 9:00 AM, and conclude at 1:00 PM, with the after party then taking place.
Those who wish to compete will also be required to pay a nominal registration fee of $49.28.
