American troops deployed far from home may not always have access to greeting cards, and a project that will be undertaken in the Stevensville area will see area paper crafters make a difference.
Those from age 11 and up will be crafting cards to send to military personnel, and the talents of all levels of experience will be appreciated. The activity has been scheduled for a Saturday morning, and it will run for two hours.
Those who register for the workshop will be provided with the materials needed to prepare an assortment of cards, and these will then be collected and sent overseas to show troops that they are in the thoughts of their friends, family, and community. An inclusive session, sign language interpreters may be available upon request, which can be made via the event listing. There is no fee being charged to be part of the project.
Hands-on crafting sessions allow participants can chat and enjoy one another’s company while creating worthwhile projects. Libraries and other not-for-profit institutions often choose to use the services of a local flyer printing company to help get the word out about upcoming events on the agenda.
The Edgewater Library will be hosting this morning of crafting and companionship for a cause next Saturday, January 28. It will begin at 10:30 am.
