Stevensville residents limber up for the Family Fun Run
The annual Kellie Thompson Shiley Family Fun Run will once again be taking place in September. Similar to previous outings, organizers already expect an impressive turnout; rain or shine.
This 5K run was initially created to commemorate the sudden passing of Kellie Thompson Shiley in 2012. She was a fan of fitness, and this is the main reason why her name has been synonymous with the Stevensville Family Fun Run.
This year's event will be broken down into the following categories:
- a 5K run/walk for adults
- a one-mile run for children under the age of 10
Everyone who participates will receive a complimentary T-shirt, and children can attend at no charge.
Similar to other athletic events, coordinators will use several methods to advertise what runners can expect. Local flyer printing, downloadable itineraries, and even SMS reminders for those who register are all common options for keeping people informed.
The 2025 Kellie Thompson Shiley Family Fun Run is being held on Sunday, September 21. Racers should meet at Terrapin Nature Trail, 191 Log Canoe Circle in Stevensville. As the race commences at 10:00 AM, it would be wise to arrive earlier. Adults will be asked to pay a total of $43.40 if they wish to participate, which can be done through various third-party online vendors.
