The Edge Training Academy in Stevensville will organize a clinic in July to teach students how to improve their field hockey skills.
The Field Hockey Goalie + Shooter Clinic is a program where students can learn valuable skills from experienced coaches. The event is part of the Edge Training Academy’s Summer Sizzle series. Goalies and players will be taught in small groups. Shooters will learn how to play in small spaces and practice their shootouts, while the clinic for goalies will focus on positional training and Game IQ. Ryleigh Osbourne is the instructor for the goalies.
The Edge Training Academy was created in 2013 by Robert Woolley, an athlete from Kent Island who wanted to create an environment that could support the growth of local students. Woolley is a graduate of Salisbury University and has coached at Kent Island High School. The Edge offers classes for sports like pickleball, lacrosse, and soccer. The group also formed the Giving The Edge Foundation to help make their programs more accessible to children.
Goalies will be required to provide their own equipment for the training session. Athletic academies that offer similar clinics to this may use poster printing to advertise their lessons.
The summer field hockey clinic will be held on Wednesday, July 17th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The cost of the goalie clinic is $150 per student, and the price of the regular player clinic is $100.
