Area exhibits highlights finest of the arts

Two different art exhibits will be on display this November in the Stevensville area.

The first one is presented by the Kent Island Federation of the Arts (KIFA) and is titled ‘The Printer's Mark’. It features a variety of handmade prints and showcases the art of printmaking. Entrants compete for People's Choice Awards. Being presented in conjunction with this exhibit is a monotype Print class at which students will learn how to use gelatin plates to create prints.

Another exhibit on display will be the Queen Anne's County Arts Council's Benefit Exhibit. It features such local artists as Brian Draper, Steve Bleinberger, and Terry Wolf. It will kick off with an artists’ reception held at the Queen Anne's County Center for the Arts.

Either or both of these exhibits may appeal to those who are employed by Stevensville area graphics or printing companies.

The Printer's Mark will be showing at the Kent Island Federation of the Arts until November 22. Admission is free. The monotype Print class is being held on November 8 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Fees are $35 for KIFA members and $40 for non-members. Call 410-643-7424 to find out more.
