What's Happening in Louisville, KY…

Lineup for downtown Louisvilles drive-in series revealed

Once again, the Waterfront Development Corporation in conjunction with Louisville Downtown Partnership is providing free outdoor movie screenings for the public.

Beginning today (May 16) with Pitch Perfect and extending into October, a total of 10 films will be screened at the Brown-Forman Amphitheater in Waterfront Park. Two movies will be offered each month with the exception of May and July, which will have only one each. All the films will have a PG or PG-13 rating and will begin at dusk. The amphitheater opens an hour before sundown, giving the public ample time to find a spot, spread a blanket, set up chairs, and settle themselves down.

Banner printing services can help attendees locate venues for series like this.

In a news release, the Louisville Downtown Partnership’s executive director, Rebecca Fleischaker, said:

"The Downtown Drive-In has become one of our signature community events, bringing people together to enjoy movies under the Louisville skyline. This series showcases our commitment to creating vibrant Downtown experiences that connect residents and visitors alike while highlighting the unique charm of our urban core."

After tonight, the next Downtown Drive-In movie night will be June 6, when the movie Happy Gilmore will play. The last movie of season will be October 10 with the appropriately chosen Ghostbusters.

Food and drink vendors, Please & Thank You and Froggy’s Popcorn will be on hand and beer will be available from Ten20 Craft Brewery. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot, and to bring chairs and blankets. Movie screening will be dependent on the weather.
