Erlanger lovers waltz and whirl to help Alzheimers

Residents of Erlanger can celebrate in style at the 11th Annual Cherish the Memories Valentine’s Dance, while they support a good cause.

The dance offers a full evening of entertainment for couples young and old. The event begins with dinner and drinks, then moves into dancing. There will also be silent auctions and raffles during the dance. Attendees can bid on sports memorabilia, including an autographed photo of the Cincinnati Reds, jewelry, and art.

All proceeds from the event are going towards the Alzheimer’s Association. The event was started in 2005 by Cris and Joe Suez after Cris’ father passed away due to Alzheimer’s. So far the dances have raised over $100,000 to support the non-profit foundation.

Last year marked the last year the Suez family organized the event. There were some doubts that it would continue this year, but two friends of the dance, Amy Gardner and Linda Kreke Higgins, decided to take up the mantle.

The 11th Annual Cherish the Memories Valentine’s Dance will be held on February 13 from 7:00 pm until midnight at the Receptions Conference Center located at 1379 Donaldson Dr. in Erlanger. Tickets should be purchased in advance and cost $50. A discounted rate is also available at the Marriott for attendees. Those interested in attending should look out for Flyers advertising the event.
