The Erlanger Stretch of the Dixie Highway is looking forward to the arrival of a new budget store known for its weekend Flyers in the newspapers – Family Dollar.
The business is a welcome boon to the local economy in terms of both jobs and property development.
Construction began on December 16 and will continue well into 2016. The building will end up spanning around 9,100 square feet, which is an average size for a store of this kind. Beyond that, the new business will employ 15-20 people in the Northern Kentucky region.
The new storefront is taking over what had previously been J&S Auto, an out of business car repair shop. The revitalization of the vacant lot is considered an exceptional benefit by the mayor and many in the area.
Family Dollar is an American variety store chain founded in 1959 with more than 8,100 locations in the United States. In 2014, it was purchased by the company Dollar Tree, making it part of the largest variety store company in the U.S.
