The 2024 Ride of Silence (RoS) will be taking place in Elk Grove Village this May, organized by FCEG.
The event will commemorate Jose Nelson Cobian, Rose Waters, Al Hattendorf, and all other individuals who have suffered injuries or lost their lives while riding. The occasion aims to pay homage to these individuals, raise awareness about the presence of cyclists on the roads, and advocate for mutual respect and sharing of road space among all road users.
From 6:10 pm to 6:30 pm on the day, attendees will complete waivers and undergo bike Checks. Between 6:30 pm and 6:40 pm, there will be a proclamation for the Ride of Silence (RoS) along with a safety discussion. The ride itself will take place from 6:40 pm to 8:00 pm, covering a distance of 10 miles. The event will conclude with a cleanup session from 8:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
Participation in the event is free of charge. Organizers strongly encourage the use of helmets for all individuals. The ride will adhere to traffic regulations such as stopping at red lights and traffic Signs when necessary. The ride is suitable for individuals 10 years old and above.

The ride is set for Wednesday, May 15, it will start off and wrap up at the Al Hattendorf Center, 225 East Elk Grove Boulevard, Elk Grove Village.
