Anxiety and depression are mental health issues that are faced by a significant portion of the population. Having knowledge and a ‘go-to’ set of tools can be helpful to those who live with these conditions, and a series of classes will be held in Boise to provide these to all participants.
The course, which will take place over a span of eight weeks, is intended for both those who are coping with depression or anxiety, as well as those who love them or who just want to learn more about mental health. Much of the information and tips shared will be evidence based, and a variety of areas will be covered.
During the sessions, the facilitator will guide the class through several subject areas including exercise, nutrition, sleeping, grief and loss, overcoming thinking issues, and the overall health of the brain. The planners noted that the program has a success rate of 90%, and it is free to participate.
The Lake Hazel Public Library has been selected to host this series of workshops. Training manuals and other materials that can aid the participants in their study in classes like these, along with wallet cards with important phone numbers and other supports, can be prepared for this type of occasion by area Print shops.
The first of these learning sessions has been planned for January 16. The scheduled start time is 6:00 pm.
