Boise kids have been invited to attend a workshop where they will make a special treat for their feathered friends.
Evergreen seeds are a favorite food for many species of birds that call the Boise area home, and the cone bird feeders that will be created during the workshop can attract them to a child’s yard. Every child who participates will need to have an adult take part along with them, and tickets for the event are $10.
All of the materials that will be used to prepare the bird feeders will be supplied, and as they will be hand crafted, each will be unique. They can be hung in a tree or off a porch or railing, and with a little bit of luck, it will not be long until these winter treats will make their yard one of the most popular in the neighborhood for hungry birds.
A hands-on class like this can be a lot of fun, and it also gives young children a chance to take part in an environmental stewardship project. A flyer printing company can prepare eye catching items that help to let the public know where and when it will be held, making them valuable marketing materials.
Franz Witte Nursery has scheduled its cone bird feeder class for November 6. It is set to begin at 5:30 pm.
