A Boise reserve that serves as a home for a variety of avian species will soon be paid a visit by a group of birders, and the public is encouraged to add their name to the list of those taking part.
This outing, which will go along at a slow pace, will give both novice and experienced birders a chance to hone their spotting and identification skills, and the group can expect to see winter birds as well as a few seasonal stragglers. Binoculars are highly recommended, although there will be a few pairs available to borrow.
The excursion has been planned by the Golden Eagle Audubon Society, which explained that it can be a good opportunity to spot ducks and other waterfowl. While those who are 18 and under are encouraged to participate, they must be accompanied by an adult. Questions may be directed to elouisa603@gmail.com.
When planning an activity that introduces the public to a new hobby, it may be a good idea to have some tip sheets prepared to distribute. This sort of service is available at area Stationery printers, which will be able to include full-color photos and other graphics.
This visit to Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve will meet up in the site’s main parking lot at 9:00 am on December 8. Anyone interested in viewing birds in the wild is welcome.
