Boise set to kick off holiday season

Boise has set up a schedule of winter holiday fun that will welcome one and all, with many of its offerings free of charge.

Downtown Boise will be celebrating the season with family-friendly entertainmnet, and it will kick off with the community’s tree lighting ceremony. This will be on offer in Grove Plaza, where it will be one of a number of decor installations to enjoy.

This “Tannenbaum” will be decorated with more than 5,000 lights, and a custom designed topper will provide the final added touch. It measures at least 45 feet tall and will be joined by light-wrapped streetlights, snowflake swags, and other decor, thanks to support from the Downtown Boise Association.

When they drop by to view the lights and displays, members of the public are reminded that the tree will also have a higher purpose. It will carry 4,000 gift tags that will raise funds for the families who count on the Women’s and Children's Alliance.

Lighted holiday displays are popular during the winter festive season. Banner printing services for a special occasion can be obtained from Print shops, which will be able to provide options suitable for use outdoors.

The Grove Plaza in Boise will be opening its holiday activities with its tree lighting ceremony on Friday, November 29. It is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
