Boise museum welcomes new art chief

The Boise Art Museum has found itself someone to fill the position of Curator of Art.

Nicole Herden has been selected to fill the role, which will was left vacant by the Sandy Harthorn, who has retired after serving in this position for the past 39 years. During this time, she organized more than 400 exhibitions.

Herden attended Arizona State University, from which she received her Master’s degree in Art History, as well as a Curatorial Windgate Charitable Foundation Fellowship and also an Eirene Peggy Lamb Graduate Fellowship. She was also granted a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from Boise State University.

From 2008 until 2010, she did an internship with the Boise Art Museum, and became a registrar in 2013. As part of that position, one of her responsibilities was to work with the institution’s permanent collection. She has also been employed as curatorial assistant at both the Phoenix Art Museum and the Arizona State University Art Museum.
