Boise kids invited to learn about worlds wildlife

This summer, Zoo Boise will be educating children from the local area about global wildlife, and part of this will be its Critter College for Little Learners’ Opposites Attract program.

The sessions, which will begin in the middle of June, will take descriptions such as short and tall, old and young, and dry and wet, using these as the basis for the class. Each will compare two different groups of animals, including the environment they live in and how they have adapted to these specific ecosystems.

Each of the classes will include making a themed craft, story telling, games, imaginative play and even animal encounters. The activities are all hands-on, and planned for children who will be starting either kindergarten or grade one when the upcoming school year begins. Each will be two hours long, and the cost for Boise residents and zoo passholders will be $30, while for nonresidents the ticket price will be $35. An institution such as this can use Direct Mail printing to create newsletters and other materials to send to households in the local area, keeping them informed about the latest programs it has to offer.

The first of the Critter College sessions has been planned for June 15, and they will run until August 10. A full schedule of the different topics and additional information about both the zoo and the programs it offers can be found on its website.
