Boise class to share secrets of herb cultivation

Herbs are often easy to grow, adding fresh flavor to a variety of recipes, and a Boise workshop will offer tips and tricks for their successful cultivation.

The learners in the Herb Gardening Workshop will discover how easy it can be to grow culinary herbs at home, even if the only space they have is a sunny windowsill. Gold Feather Gardens founder Jamie Brennan will be sharing his knowledge at what may be a good introduction for the newbie gardener.

The class will introduce the basics of plant cultivation, including tips for choosing which ones to grow. The students will be taught how to plant, feed, water and harvest their herbs, and they will also find out how to use them in the kitchen. Each participant will receive the materials they need to get started, which will include a printed sheet of advice for caring for their new herb dish garden. Snacks from Petite 4 will be served.

Attending a class gives the public an opportunity to learn some new skills. Handouts for a workshop can be ordered from area Stationery printers ahead of an event.

Petite 4, which can be found at 4 North Latah Street, will be welcoming registrants for this session on September 14. Everyone is asked to arrive by no later than 5:00 pm.
