Unique car safari and exhibition planned for Macon

Next month, the Junior League of Macon (JLM) will host Rock ‘N Rides, a drive-thru exhibition showcasing big trucks and other unique vehicles.

JLM is an organization of women whose mission is to promote the development of female potential and support volunteerism to improve the community through effective leadership. Its volunteer focus area includes helping to improve childhood literacy and school readiness across Middle Georgia. Rock ‘N Rides, formerly called Touch A Truck, will serve to raise money for these causes and is sponsored by various area businesses.

Rock ‘N Rides is a family event in which children and their parents will be able to learn facts about big trucks, such as emergency and construction vehicles, and other unique vehicles in Macon. To provide a safe environment during COVID-19, organizers have modified the event into a no-contact drive-thru safari where families can drive through the exhibition of vehicles without getting out of their cars. JLM volunteers will be greeting guests and safely handing out fact sheets about the cars, as well as Promotional Products donated by sponsoring businesses.

The event is scheduled for April 17, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. There will be a quiet hour from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Tickets are $10 per vehicle, and more information about how and when to purchase them can be found on JLM’s website.
