In January, Keep Georgia Beautiful will once again hold the Bring One for the Chipper event to provide the Macon community with the opportunity to recycle their Christmas trees.
Created in 1978, Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation is a state affiliate of the national program Keep America Beautiful. The foundation supports over 70 county and city programs across the state and provides them with the tools and resources to engage in community-driven environmental conservation efforts.
The Bring One for the Clipper event invites Georgia residents to donate their live Christmas trees to turn into mulch instead of simply throwing them out. The event is a statewide program with donation events taking place in cities across the state, including in Macon. The trees will go towards supplying playgrounds, schools, businesses, and private homes with fresh mulch.
Organizers ask that residents bring their trees to the drop-off site undecorated and unbound. No artificial trees will be accepted. Free seed variety packets will also be given out to attendees while supplies last.
Organizers often choose to display the specifics of such recycling events on informative Brochures, which can be printed at specialized brochure printing shops.
The tree recycling event is scheduled for January 7 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The drop-off site is located at Luther Williams Field on 225 Willie Smokey Glover Boulevard.
