Macon venue celebrates 50th anniversary with Grateful Dead tribute

Cosmic Charlie is going live at the Workingman’s Dead & American Beauty’s 50th anniversary in Macon, Georgia. This event was originally scheduled for March 14 but will be pushed back into May as a result of recent COVID-19 shutdowns.

This band started in 1999 and took on the Grateful Dead catalog by turning it into their own personal brand. Instead of imitating other cover bands, Cosmic Charlie performs for folks who prefer an alternative style, choosing to play songs that are energetic but still built upon the foundation of Dead music.

On the stage, Cosmic Charlie has its nostalgic appeal as fans cheer on the singers. In the upcoming concert, this band will move its audience with a balance between tradition and creativity.

This is demonstrated in the Dead jams, where the background instruments and the singers are all synced up perfectly during those high-note moments that bring all the fans together.

Those who live in Macon will get a chance to see this special musical performance at the Hargray Capitol Theatre. This Workingman’s Dead & American Beauty event will hit the stage on May 16 at 8:00 pm, although again it will be worth checking the listings for updates as the date approaches. Flyers can be posted on streets and around the corner to promote popular bands and their songs.
