The 52nd Annual Mulberry Street Arts & Crafts Festival will be held in Macon next month to celebrate the coming of spring.
The Mulberry Street Arts & Crafts Festival is the oldest arts and crafts festival in Middle Georgia, celebrating that unique time when the cherry blossoms start to bloom and Downtown Macon becomes rejuvenated. The festival will be presented by the Middle Georgia Art Association, a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting the visual arts and providing enriching educational programs for the community.
Since 1967, the museum has sponsored festivals, exhibitions, scholarships, and art classes. The Mulberry festival has consistently been the museum’s primary source of operating revenue.
The festival will be free, open to the public, and an ideal event for the whole family. Thousands of visitors are expected to descend upon the festival grounds to enjoy a creative, festive atmosphere where vendors in their hundreds from all across the country will be exhibiting their wares. There will be booths displaying items such as ceramics, watercolors, pencil drawings, woodwork, metalwork, pies, and handmade gifts.
Vendor booths will often be decorated with colorful Banners at such events. Vendors can prepare such decorations at most area businesses offering banner printing services.
The Macon festival is scheduled for March 25 and 26. It will take place along Mulberry Street, between Second Street and Broadway.
