Real IMPACT Center is hosting the family-focused Macon STEM festival to celebrate advancements in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The STEM Festival is an outdoor event providing opportunities for people of all ages to mingle and share their interest in STEM subjects, as they branch off into many possible career fields. It begins with an inauguration speech and features hands-on exhibits, interactive demonstrations, STEM-related performances, and live entertainment. STEM professionals teaching K-12 to college-level classes are expected to give talks on stage.
This event will be held at the Central Georgia Technical College in Macon, where 40 exhibitors are going to provide activities for attendees passionate about STEM. There will be food trucks parked on site selling lunch with refreshments. Live STEM shows have been scheduled with every exhibitor. An Autism Friendly Zone is available, offering a sensory-friendly space for autistic participants.
The festival is accessible to all families who would enjoy a fun experience learning about innovations in technology and engineering, with a capacity exceeding 1,500 patrons if it attracts a bigger crowd. It is sponsored by Real IMPACT and a handful of volunteers from the Macon community.
The Macon STEM festival will take place on Saturday, March 21 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Poster printing could make hands-on activities more appealing to children with entertaining illustrations or interesting facts.
