Macon pop-up to showcase kid entrepreneurs

Macon’s Pop-Up Market: Kids’ Edition happening this May will offer local children and teens the opportunity to learn what it is like to be an entrepreneur, artist, or maker.

The market will be hosted by 7th Street Salvage, an experimental shopping venue that was once a rundown warehouse. Diligently renovated, the warehouse now provides a welcoming venue for local markets and pop-ups showcasing the talent and wares of Macon’s artisans and small businesses.

May’s pop-up event will differ from regular markets in that it will shine the spotlight on ambitious young crafters ages 8 to 17. The pop-up will offer the children a chance to become vendors in the market and sell their handcrafted items. Children will be required to be accompanied by an adult chaperone, but the adults are only encouraged to supervise and allow the kids to get hands-on vending experience. All items sold at the market must be made by the children. Vendors also must provide their own equipment, such as tables and chairs.

Banners may be a helpful tool to utilize for market events like this as they can be easily created and printed by local Print shops with banner printing services.

The market is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, beginning at 9:00 am. It will take place at 7th Street Downtown on 592 2nd Street. The vendor fee is $5.
