Macon gastropub to celebrate Oktoberfest

Paying tribute to the traditional German beer festival, Just Tap’d in Macon will host its own Oktoberfest next month.

Just Tap’d is a gastropub located in the heart of downtown Macon that serves hearty pub bites and craft brews. The gastropub’s Oktoberfest event will feature traditional German music and German cuisine like soft pretzels, Bavarian brats, and gingerbread cookies. There will also be plenty of German brews served out of beer steins – a traditional beer mug made of stone or other insulated material to keep the beer frosty.

Organizers encourage attendees to dress up in German garb such as lederhosen and traditional German beer maid dresses. For those that do not come in costume, there will also be fun Oktoberfest photo props to take pictures with.

Festival entry is free, but there will also be the opportunity to purchase the Oktoberfest VIP Package, which includes one 16-ounce souvenir beer stein, one complimentary Bavarian brat meal, one soft pretzel with either beer mustard or beer cheese, gingerbread cookies, and two beer fills in their souvenir mug.

Festivals like this often attract local vendors that may take advantage of the influx of potential customers and hand out Promotional Products to pique interest in their wares.

The festival is scheduled for September 30 through October 2. Just Tap’d is located on 488 First Street. The VIP package is $35.
