Macon festival to shed light on local arts

The 1st Annual MacFest’23 will be held next month in Macon to celebrate the city’s unique sounds and creations from local artists, musicians, and artisans.

The festival will be held at the Macon Arts Center, endearingly referred to as “The Mac.” The center is a multifaceted live entertainment complex that holds indoor and outdoor concerts, film productions, corporate events, theatrical productions, and a variety of festivals throughout the year.

Suitable for the whole family, the MacFest will feature local artist exhibitions, artisan vendors, and musical acts throughout the day. There will be bouncy houses for children to play in, as well as arts and crafts booths where they can participate in a creative project. Families will also enjoy fun carnival-style games, and food trucks will be available serving treats such as snow cones.

Vendors should note that there will be a $25 vending fee to set up, except for painter vendors, who may vend at no charge. Musicians interested in performing will get their performance recorded and receive a slot on a podcast and radio interview. Such events often provide good opportunities for vendors to boost their business visibility and participate in networking activities, such as exchanging Business Cards.

MacFest’23 is scheduled for July 1 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Mac is located at 4570 Pio Nono Avenue. Admission is $15
