The Georgia chapter of the ALS Association will be holding a drive parade in Macon next month to raise awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), as well as honor those with the condition and memorialize those who have passed.
The ALS Association is a nonprofit organization that provides individuals living with ALS with nationwide services and care. It also funds global research to find a cure and help improve the quality of life for those affected.
The Macon drive parade’s goal is to honor those with ALS and educate the community about the progressive neurodegenerative disease. Donations raised by the parade will go towards supporting services and research dedicated to ending ALS.
The vehicle parade will be held after the association breakfast gathering. Attendees and association members will decorate the participating vehicles, and the best decorated vehicle will win a $25 gift card. Masks will be required for all those who attend.
The Macon ALS Drive Parade is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 23. Attendees should arrive at 9:00 am, and the parade will begin at 10:30 am. The meeting spot will be the Atrium Health Navicent Rehabilitation Hospital, located at 3351 Northside Drive, Macon.
Banner printing is often helpful in organizing parade events like this because it is an affordable and convenient way for organizers to create event-specific Banners to decorate with.
