The Macon Art eXplosion (MAX) will take place next month, providing the community with an exhibition of unconventional art and performances.
The MAX will be hosted by The Grand Opera House, a performing arts center and community-assembly resource for all residents of Macon-Bibb County. The Grand’s mission is to nurture a passion and appreciation for the arts, especially in the youth of the community. November’s art festival will be an all-weekend event celebrating extreme art and radical inclusivity.
The festival will feature Maker Merchant Booths, which will offer interactive art activities for attendees to engage with, as well as showcase artists’ wares and projects. Stage Highlight Nights will provide a sneak peek at the behind-the-scenes of performers, creators, and art-focused classes in the Central Georgia regions. The Guerrilla Grand Spaces will offer a rare glimpse into the hidden nooks and crannies of The Grand, spaces in which interactive performances, plays, and mini concerts will be found. Admission will include an all-weekend access pass, as well as a souvenir button featuring a Logo Design.
The extreme art festival is scheduled for November 11 through November 13. The Grand Opera House is located on 651 Mulberry Street, Macon. Admission is $5 for all weekend. Those paying by credit card should note that box office processes credit cards only until 5:00 pm, after which tickets must be purchased in cash.
