Macon advocacy group to host sensory-friendly Christmas

Next weekend, Puzzle Pieces of Love will host the Sensory Friendly Santa Photos and Community Christmas Market in Macon to provide an inclusive holiday experience.

Puzzle Pieces of Love is a support and advocacy group for families with children who are on the autism spectrum. It is local to Macon and has an online presence to reach more pockets of the community. December’s event will provide families with a safe space to enjoy the holiday festivities without the chaos that often accompanies the Christmas season.

The event will feature a sensory-friendly photo session where children can get their photo taken with Santa. Families can take home one free digital image of their child with Santa after the event. A community Christmas market will be set up for guests to enjoy as they wait their turn for photos. Local vendors will be selling all manner of artisan, homemade, and retail items for shoppers looking for last minute Christmas gifts. A quiet room will also be set up for those with a tendency to be overstimulated.

Organizers often choose to advertise their events on Flyers, which can be printed at shops specializing in flyer printing, and then distributed throughout the community.

The holiday market and photo event is scheduled for next Saturday, December 3 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. It will take place at 2733 Sheraton Drive.
