Macon kids will get to enjoy art-themed activities in the great outdoors this July, when Summer Garden and ABCbreathe host the Art and Movement Summer Camp.
Summer Garden is a local outdoor beer and wine garden with family-friendly spaces, and ABCbreathe is an educational organization dedicated to teaching students and their teachers about mindfulness and meditative breathing techniques. July’s Art and Movement Summer camp will be a collaboration between the two, using Summer Garden’s open outdoor space and ABCbreathe’s educational programs.
The summer camp will provide children with various art-centered activities by partnering up with local artists. Children will learn gardening, clay handbuilding, music, painting, and yoga. The yoga sessions each morning will be led by ABCbreathe instructors and will focus on teaching mindfulness.
Parents are asked to provide their children with a packed lunch and water. Snacks will be provided by the organizers. In the event of rain, the camp activities will be moved to the venue’s pavilion and indoor spaces.
The Art and Movement Summer Camp is scheduled for two sessions, with one being July 12 through July 16, and the second for July 19 through July 23. Summer Garden is located at 2389 Ingleside Avenue, Macon. Tickets are $150.
