A festival, jazz jubilee and a celebration have been scheduled for St. Petersburg to commemorate Juneteenth this year.
Juneteenth celebrates the day when people in Galveston, Texas back on June 19th, 1865, found out that the U.S. had officially ended slavery
St. Petersburg festivities will begin June 6th, with a community festival called Celebrate Juneteenth 2026. Festival attendees can look forward to local resource booths, entertainment, cultural activities, food, and participation from St. Petersburg organizations and city officials.
Celebrate Juneteenth 2026 will be a free event taking place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Enoch D. Davis Center, 1111 18th Avenue S.
June 19th, the Woodson Museum, an African American Museum of Florida, will host a jazz-themed celebration Jazzy Juneteenth Jubilee. Entertainment will include live jazz performances, soul food, cultural exhibitions and family-friendly programming. There will also be tours of the Museum's galleries dedicated to Black history.

On June 20th, The Deuces on 22nd Street S in the city's historic African American business and cultural district will be holding a Juneteenth Celebration on the Deuces. This will be a free huge outdoor street festival with food vendors, kid's activities, Gulf Coast Black history cultural performances, historical walking tours and art installations. Black-owned businesses will be lining the corridor.
