The Palm Beach Gardens Recreation Department will hold a safety workshop in April at the local aquatic complex.
April Pools' Day is an annual safety workshop that families can attend to learn more about staying safe around water. There will be many water safety lessons taught during the event, including how to use life jackets, rescue techniques for those who are drowning, and how to supervise others when swimming. Guests can also learn about small boating safety tips at the workshop. People will get to visit different stations at the aquatic complex and listen to short presentations.
Children who attend the safety workshop should wear bathing suits to the event. There will be Coast Guard-approved life jackets handed to children at all stations that are around the water. Slides and other play amenities won’t be open at the workshop, though participants will be given a voucher to return for open swim sessions for every passport they complete. Guests can purchase food at the aquatic center from a limited menu provided by Chick-Fil-A.
April Pools’ Day will be held on Saturday, April 11th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The activities are intended for children who are four and older. Families can register for the event online or at the aquatic center. The event is also open to those outside of Palm Beach Gardens. Cities that host safety events like this may use brochure printing to make informative materials for parents to bring home.
