Miami museum to hold holiday after-hours event

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens will hold the Vizcaya Late: Holiday Evening event in December as an opportunity for locals and visitors to enjoy a special winter celebration and learn the stories of the mansion and grounds.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens was the former estate and villa belonging to prominent businessman John Deering, and is now a National Historic Landmark representing the Gilded Age in Miami. It operates as a museum and learning center teaching the public about how life was in the early 1900s.

The Vizcaya also hosts special events and programs, such as Vizcaya Late, which is an after-hours program with a different theme each month. For December, it will follow the Holiday Evening theme, offering a cozy celebration of wintertime cheer.

The décor of the house will be in the festive style of a century ago, with garland strung on balconies and a traditional old-fashioned Christmas tree towering in the East Loggia room. Guests will enjoy participating in making holiday lanterns as they sip free hot chocolate. Food and other beverages will also be available for purchase.

Museums hosting special holiday events like this may decide to get the word out by distributing Flyers that they can get printed in bulk at local Print shops with flyer printing services.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, December 9 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The Vizcaya is located at 3251 South Miami Avenue.
