The 121 Financial Credit Union is presenting the Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament, which is coming in mid-July.
The tournament will benefit Jacksonville Marine Charities, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) organization supporting education, preservation, and marine science research.
The General Tournament will have more than 300 professional and amateur anglers at Sister Creek Jim King Park and Boat Ramp for a week of fishing that will result in thousands of dollars in prizes.
First prize will be a Contender 25T, with Twin 150 Yamaha Outboards and Digital Command Link Plus, and a Custom T-Top Trailer. The prize package is over $160,000. Other prizes will be awarded for first through tenth place in Largest Fish, Aggregate, and Lady Anglers divisions.
The Junior Angler Tournament will include seminars and fishing either in boats or from Sister’s Creek dock.
On July 22, fishing for redfish using rod and reel will start at Sisters Creek at safe light, with weigh-in ending at 2:00 pm. Registration is $75. This will be a live catch tournament and only one fish may be entered for the official spot count or weigh-in.
A food festival with a boutique offering official tournament merchandise such as hats and T-Shirts sporting this year’s event graphic design will be happening on at the Jim Park & Boat Ramp.
The Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament will take place July 17 through 22.
