Porchfest returns to Jacksonville

Porchfest, an annual free live music festival, will be taking over the porches and parks in the Historic Springfield community in early November.

The afternoon will feature dozens of bands performing on neighborhood porches and in Klutho Park. Guests will be able to hear from music groups such as J & the Causeways, Future Joy and La Tribu Royale. Other artists will include Baba Caiman, Glazed, Luci Lind and Sunriver.

Food trucks will be vending snacks, wine and craft beer, and art vendors will be selling their original works along the walkable route.

Although the event is free, special PorchFest Friend ($250) and PorchFest Family ($450) tickets are available. These include VIP passes for air-conditioned seating, complimentary drink and food tickets and gift Bags including Posters and T-Shirts.

Proceeds from donations, VIP tickets, and purchase of the event's tee shirts sporting this year's graphic design will go to Jacksonville's Urban Core arts-related activities.

Local businesses will keep the music going after the fest ends with PorchFest After Dark. Some of these locations will include 1 Foxy Lady Cafe, Dreamette Ice Cream, Main Street Food Park, Springfield Scoops and Strings Sports Brewery. Some will be giving away free gifts, coupons, and merchandise and hold live performances.

This year's Jacksonville Porchfest will take place just north of Downtown Jacksonville on Saturday, November 9th from noon to 8:00 pm.
